I’m Sarah Milward, and I’ve spent years working with teams to build websites, design engaging graphics, and craft messaging that makes sense. I’ve taken all that experience and poured it into something close to my heart: helping small businesses grow through purposeful, beautiful design, and technology that fits your needs.
I started Milward Creative because I believe in the power of small, passionate businesses - the kind built on good ideas and a whole lot of hard work. My husband and I are small business owners, so I know how overwhelming it can be to juggle the day-to-day while trying to build or maintain an online presence or create new marketing materials. Filling that need is the foundation of Milward Creative.
I focus on three core areas:
Website Design & Development to help you build trust and get found online
Logos & Branding to express who you are at a glance
Marketing Graphics to make your message stick

In addition to running this small business, my husband, Brett Morse, and I own and operate The B-Town Sharp Shop and Bloomington Precision Sharpening. (You may have noticed that some of the work I share on this site refers to that business.) Prior to that, I ran a freelance editing and transcription business for over a decade called Hoosier Editing. I even ran my own business as a face painter for 5 years or so - Bloomington Face Painting.
Another part of my background lies in the tech sector. I've worked as a CRM administrator for 5 years, helping nonprofits and higher education institutions build and maintain their databases, which they rely on to house their most vital business data. I love technology that does what it's supposed to do without a bunch of extra stuff in the way, and I harnessed that passion to create solutions are attractive, made sense, and worked properly. I bring that same love of practicality to my work here at Milward Creative - if a website doesn't function and isn't user-friendly, it really doesn't matter if it looks nice.
Folks in the Bloomington, Indiana area might be familiar with Charlie Bird, a parrot who rode around town on the back of a bicycle and made everyone smile. I became friends with Charlie and his owner, Jojo Porowski, and together we created a fundraiser to pay for Charlie's medical expenses. Charlie Bird Loves Bloomington was born - a children's book highlighting the many places in our town that Jojo and Charlie loved to visit. We launched the project in 2021 with a small local team - Nick Bauer, a talented photographer and videographer, Winnie King, a phenomenal illustrator, Jojo and Charlie, and myself. My role was multi-faceted: I wrote the story, laid out the storyboard, worked with our illustrator, managed the fundraiser to pay for book printing and other costs, built and promoted the website, generated interest on social media, and even managed press and events to promote the book.
